چکیده

Incubation of normal mouse splenic lymphocytes with dimeric mouse IgD results in the formation of T-cell factors that selectively inhibit rosette formation of Fc delta receptor-positive lymphocytes with IgD-coated erythrocytes. The rosette-inhibiting factors bound to IgD-Sepharose and were recovered by elution at acid pH. The results indicate that the rosette-inhibiting factors are IgD-binding factors. Neither IgE-binding factors nor IgG-binding factors inhibited IgD rosettes. The IgD-binding factors induced by IgD consist of two species of molecular weight 78,000 and 37,000, respectively. The source of IgD-binding factors is Lyt-1+ T cells bearing Fc delta receptors. It appears that the binding of IgD to the receptors on the T cells induces the formation of IgD-binding factors.

Enhancement of antibody responses by IgD-binding factors induced by anti-IgD treatment of spleen cells.

Treatment of normal BALB/c splenocytes with anti-mouse IgD antibodies at 0 degrees C followed by incubation of the cells at 37 degrees C resulted in the formation of soluble factors that selectively inhibit rosette formation of lymphocytes bearing Fc delta receptors with IgD-coated erythrocytes (i.e., IgD-binding factors). Treatment of the same cells with anti-IgM antibodies failed to induce th...

Lectin-Binding Patterns in the Microenvironment of the Mouse Developing T-Cells

Glycoconjugates and their programmed changes during the course of development in the cell-surface as well as in the extracellular matrix, are known to affect cell differentiation, cellular interaction and other developmental phenomena during embryogenesis. The purpose of this study was to localize N-acetylgalactosamin as well as fucose-containing glycoconjugates in situ during thymus developmen...

A role for TLRs in Moraxella-superantigen induced polyclonal B cell activation.

A number of microorganisms are capable of binding immunoglobulins (Igs) in a manner, which excludes binding to conventional antigen binding sites. Interaction of such bacterial proteins with surface immunoglobulins leads to polyclonal activation of B-lymphocytes. A recent example is Moraxella catarrhalis that binds to B lymphocytes in an IgD-dependent manner and induces proliferation and differ...

Zinc-finger protein ZFP318 is essential for expression of IgD, the alternatively spliced Igh product made by mature B lymphocytes.

IgD and IgM are produced by alternative splicing of long primary RNA transcripts from the Ig heavy chain (Igh) locus and serve as the receptors for antigen on naïve mature B lymphocytes. IgM is made selectively in immature B cells, whereas IgD is coexpressed with IgM when the cells mature into follicular or marginal zone B cells, but the transacting factors responsible for this regulated change...

1136 B Cell Triggering through Surface

Surface immunoglobul in (slg) x molecules are the antigen-specific receptors on B lymphocytes (1). The precise role of sIg in regulating B lymphocyte function has been the subject o f considerable investigation; a debate still exists over whether slg acts as a signaling device per se (2), or whether it merely serves to focus antigen on the cell surface (3). T he majori ty o f splenic B lymphocy...
